F ormer owner
and Managing Director of Bourne Tools & Co. Ltd., a world class manufacturer
of plastic moulding tools for over 30 years. Awarded Fellowship of the
then Institute of Materials in 1994 for my work on Pentamode, a Code of
Practice developed by a committee of industry experts, for the design
and manufacter of plastic parts. Also, a former board member and Mould
& Die section Chairman of the Guage and Toolmakers Association (GTMA),
where I worked as an original member of the committee that was formed
to develop the World Class Toolmaker Profile, a toolmaking benchmark,
again working closely with industry experts. I joined and led some of
the many various overseas study tours organised by the GTMA to learn from
the best and assess global competition in mouldmaking. |
